Looking For Newer Anime

Now that I've gotten the hang of watching anime in Japanese with English subs so I don't have to wait for English dubs to come out, I'm looking for some newer anime series to watch. The best recently released anime I've seen so far are Kaichou wa Maid-sama! and Hakuouki, and I'm looking forward to watching to watching Arakawa Under The Bridge, Durarara! and Kimi ni Todoke. (By "newer anime", I mean those that have been released within 2010.) Oh, and I'm also very excited to see what 2011 has in store for us. Here's hoping to more bishounen, reverse harems, and romance this year. Hehe. :)

Hakuouki: Better Than Rurouni Kenshin

It's official - Hakuouki has now surpassed Rurouni Kenshin in my book. (And that's saying a lot since Rurouni Kenshin is one of my favorite animes of all time.) The story pulled me in at the beginning and had me riveted all the way until the very end. I fell in love with the characters and my heart went out to them. I laughed, and I probably would have cried at the end had it not been so very beautiful. The only thing I didn't like about it was that it was too damn short. Twenty-two episodes just wasn't enough!

I'm looking forward to watching Hakuouki Shinsengumi Kitan (Season 1) and Hakuouki Hekketsu-roku (Season 2) again when the English dubs come out. I don't know when that will be, but I'm quite sure that an anime this good will be licensed for English dub soon. I'm bursting with curiosity as to who the English voice actors will be. And I hope FUNimation gets it since almost all of my favorite English voice actors are there.

Regardless, Hakuouki will forever stay in my heart along with Rurouni Kenshin as one of the greatest animes I have ever seen. Now I think I really am going to cry. Hehehe...

I Love Hakuouki!

Oh my God! I just absolutely love Hakuouki! I finished watching all twelve episodes of Hakuouki: Shinsengumi Kitan (season 1) and the first episode of Hakuouki: Hekketsu-roku (season 2) this evening and I'm all giddy with excitement! Now that I think of it, Hakuouki is the first chanbara or samurai anime that I've loved this much since Rurouni Kenshin. Maybe it's because of all those gorgeous Shinsengumi guys. Eek! I'm having a nosebleed! Haha!

I can't wait to continue it tomorrow. But for now, I'll go to sleep dreaming of Toshizo Hijikata and Saitou Hajime. Good night. :)

Ouran High School Host Club Special Short Story

Want more Ouran High School Host Club? Read the special short story that was included in Lala magazine's commemoration of Ouran High School Host Club while waiting for the 60-page one-shot to come out! The short story is only 6 pages long, but it's so hilarious. I still burst out laughing whenever I remember it. Wish it was longer though... I want more Ouran!

Ouran High School Host Club One-Shot Preview

I've just found out that Ouran High School Host Club has a 60-page one-shot that continues the story months after Haruhi and the rest of the host club go overseas! Yay! I can't wait to read it. I really, really hope the story will be about Kyoya. The manga's ending was so focused on Tamaki and Haruhi, which was fine, but I would have wanted a resolution to Kyoya's story as well. I'm keeping my hopes up.

Omari's Sister has promised to have the scanlation out by February. So unless you know how to read Japanese, you'll have to wait with me until then. :) They were, however, kind enough to give us some previews to keep us from ripping our hair out in the meantime. So let's be happy! :D

Another Year of Anime & Manga

Happy New Year! Okay, so my new year's greetings is a little delayed. But it doesn't matter. 2011 is still going to be another great year for anime and manga. I can just feel it!

Have you made your new year's resolutions yet? I have! This 2011 I have resolved to be more disciplined in my Japanese language study, watch more anime in its original Japanese language (with English subtitles, of course) to immerse myself in the language, and update my blog on anime and manga more regularly. Hehe... all three are easier said than done. Haha! But anyways, let's just continue to have more fun watching more anime and reading more manga. That I can most definitely do.
