Top 10 Hottest Anime Guys

Okayyy... I admit it!  I choose which anime to watch primarily based on how gorgeous the guys are in it.  So shoot me with a modified 454 Casull calibre handgun made from melting Lancaster Cathedral's silver cross, used with blessed, exploding bullets!  (Can you tell that I'm a Hellsing fan?!)  Whatever genre of anime I watch, I always look for at least one guy in it that I would be attracted to if he were real.  Seriously, I'm not joking.  I guess you could say I'm going through a late teenage-hood phase because I never got to truly experience it then.  Anyway, here is a list of my Top 10 Hottest Anime Guys as of April 2010:

Alucard

Hellsing

Alucard is one of the original vampires, believed to be Dracula, the one Van Hellsing thought he killed in Bram Stoker's masterpiece.  (Alucard is Dracula spelled backwards.)  He is very powerful and virtually indestructible.  He has a habit of getting himself shot full of holes whether by bullets or blessed blades, - really, he doesn't even try to dodge them - and even got his head cut off once in the anime, but he regenerates after a while.  He wears a stylish black suit with a blood-red Victorian coat and a pair of dark sunglasses.  Add to that a hypnotic gaze, deep resonating voice, and two large guns too heavy and powerful for a human to wield and you've got yourself one hell of a hot vampire. Undeniably the hottest anime guy alive... or undead.  Hehe.

Beginning to see a pattern here?  Tall, handsome, large guns... just my type!  Ahahaha!  Honestly, I didn't like Devil May Cry the anime series very much.  The only thing that kept me watching until the end of all 12 episodes was Dante.  Watching him fight demons, laze around in between jobs, eat pizza, gobble up glasses of strawberry sundae and lose at cards all the time was just about what I did.  However, I can't deny that this half human, half-demon tips the "hotness scale" so he's on #2 on my list.

What is it with me and guys with long coats and only one name?  It's just a coincidence, I swear!  Hei is a contractor with the ability to generate electricity, and I think he blasted a bolt right through my heart.  Yeah, yeah, corny.  Hehe.  It is said that contractors have no emotions, but Hei seems to have them.  The deadpan expression on his face and his cold demeanor often make him seem heartless, but his feelings show at some parts of the anime.  I wish he would lose that mask though, but I love that dark bullet-proof coat.

Kazuma is what you would call a ladies man.  Although he certainly isn't promiscuous, he does tend to be forward and direct when dealing with the ladies.  Ooh, I like!  Hehe.  He gained the power to control wind and lightning by making a contract with the Spirit Lord of the Wind in order to exact vengeance on the ones who killed his girlfriend.  (His girlfriend was used as a sacrifice to summon a demon.)  How romantic... or maybe not.  Still, Kazuma knows how to treat the ladies, and that's enough for me.

And another vampire makes it into my list of hot anime guys, only this one is a lot younger.  Five hundred forty-four years younger, to be exact.  There's something very erotic about a vampire sucking blood from your neck, isn't there?  Or maybe it's just me.  Hehe.  Kaname is a pure-blood vampire, probably not as powerful as Alucard, but just as merciless and unforgiving at times.  I'm really looking forward to watching the English dub of Vampire Knight.  I've read the manga until chapter 58 so far and I've fallen in love with this guy already.

Yet another vampire makes it into my list.  I really do have a thing with vampires, don't I?  Haha!  Zero comes from a family of well-known vampire hunters, so imagine his inner turmoil when he gets bitten by a pure-blood vampire and slowly transforms into a level E vampire, the lowest class of the breed.  This emotional struggle makes him come off as an insensitive jerk most of the time, but the walls he's built to separate himself from others is just a defense/coping mechanism.  Sigh... why oh why do we love unattainable men?  Hehe.

Ban Midou

I don't know why I like Ban.  He's cocky, arrogant, and pigheaded.  Oh, THAT'S why I like him!  Haha!  He has powers called the Jagan (Evil Eye) with which he can make people hallucinate and the Snake Bite, an attack with which he can crush anything he can get his hands on with 200 kg. of force.  He also has a habit of parking his beetle in "no parking" zones and an uncanny knack for losing whatever money he and his partner Ginji could have earned for their recovery services.  But in the end, Ban's self-confidence is probably what made him land a spot in my list.

Lelouch is a classic example of all brains, no brawn.  Girls can outrun him on the tracks during Physical Ed, yet this skinny little exiled prince can command an entire army and lead it to victory with his strategically planned attacks and counterattacks.  Intelligence is very sexy in a man indeed.  Plus he's determined to succeed, ruthless, and devoted to his sister.  I also believe he cheated death, but that's another story.  Hehe.

What would you do if a black book with the ability to kill people by simply having their names written in it dropped into your hands?  Well that happened to Light and he used the Death Note's power for a very noble cause, - to rid the world of criminals - albeit using "questionable" means.  Just like Lelouch, Light is also a genius when it comes to strategic planning.  (Actually, a lot of people would say that it's Lelouch who's just like Light, but that's also another story.)  And he pursued his goal to make the world a better place in spite of all the obstacles that came into his path and all the people who called him "evil" for doing so.  Talk about determination.

Kazuya is president of the SPR (Shibuya Psychic Research) whose job it is to hunt down and exorcise ghosts.  Most of the time, he acts cold, aloof and self-centered, but it's obvious that he cares about Mai (a girl he forced to work for him in order to pay for his equipment that she accidentally broke).  Mai fondly calls him "Naru" because he's so narcissistic, and it's also obvious that she likes him as well.  Truthfully, I didn't really care about all the ghost hunting going on, I just kept wishing Kazuya would kiss Mai already!  Haha!


And those are my Top 10 Hottest Anime Guys so far.  I've got a whole lot of new anime cued on my "To Watch" list, so there might be some additions in the future.  Until then, pleasant dreams! :)
